My name is Michael Joseph, the proprietor of Artblend. However, this is not all about me, this is a family affair spanning four generations (grandparents, parents, husbands, wife’s, brothers, sister, and nephews) all experienced in collecting, picking, tags sales, move outs, and estate sales.

Artblend is a boutique store located in the charming town of Plainville, Connecticut. We officially opened on September 27, 2024.The property is a well-known landmark at the tripoint crossroads of Route 10, Shuttle Meadow Road, and Whiting Street.

Traffic flows steadily here from all over the state; from the South (Darien), North (Simsbury), East (Westport) and West (Avon). You can pinpoint us on Google Maps and locate our neighboring businesses in Southington (Queen Street) and Bristol (ESPN).

The historic house was built circa 1920 and was recently restored with modern amenities while preserving its personality of the era. Our store is full of antique, vintage, and mid-century modern treasures waiting for you to discover. We specialize in rare, hard to find, hand-made, one-of-a-kind, unique, and eclectic items from all genres.

Shopping here is a pleasure. Large windows bring in sunshine during the day, and in the evening the rooms glow with soft warm light from the many lamps placed throughout. The space is well curated and easy on the eyes. No clutter or junk piles here. The goods are all kept clean and in working condition.

Our prices are always low, as the “white price tags’ will show, that said, we do enjoy a kindly negotiation. Purchasing is quick and easy; “cash and carry”, credit card (+ 4% processing fee), and Zelle.

Merchandise arrives daily, so there is always something new for you to find. Make us one of your regular picking spots and plan a day to visit our town!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Elaine Michelle. We met in CT as teenagers over 37 years ago. We immediately became best friends and lovers, in time husband and wife, and eventually long-time business partners.

Together, we established Artblend in 2005 as a store-front business located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, offering Gallery Exposure, Multimedia Marketing, Art Book Publishing, and Art Fair Exhibitions to artists from around the world. Our company was designed to bring artists vast exposure, and to attract art buyers. We had developed a unique strategy and concept, proven by the success of Michael Joseph Photography, and now an art business model currently replicated by the art industry at large.

Over the past 17 years, Artblend employed a vast team of award-winning and knowledgeable individuals. We were all very well organized and worked with a sense of urgency. Of course, as the owners, we always remained humble and accessible to answer any questions or concerns.

Since the opening of our doors, we continued to share with our community, build lasting relationships, benefit charities, and to support the arts globally.

I remain reverent, grateful, and blessed. Thank you to all those that have supported us and we intended to make proud – our families, friends, artists, and patrons.
