“I pray that art takes you on an emotional journey of color and peace.”

Tom spent 30 years in biotech/pharma and most recently was co-founder of three start-up companies. While experienced in many mediums, Tom’s favorites are oils (oil sticks preferably), acrylics, watercolor, and encaustic (wax). In many of Tom’s paintings you will find that he combines his favorite mediums with a few found objects, e.g. stones, metal, paper, sand, wood, etc. to create a large, textured, mixed media canvas. Early in Tom’s life his artistic influence came from an artist and great uncle, Joe Sheldon, of Asheville, North Carolina. Joe Sheldon was one of the early art enthusiasts that made Asheville such a great artist’s community. Tom’s artistic influence today comes from his spouse, Jeanne and the tutoring, guidance, and direction given to him for several years by the husband and wife artist team John and Theresa Frazee. I am fortunate in that I have been awarded several “Best in Show” Awards for my abstract work and have exhibited my paintings during Art Basel Miami at Spectrum Miami venue and in New York during ArtExpo NYC. In July 2014 I was selected by Art Business News Magazine as one of the Top 50 Emerging Artists for 2014. Some of South Florida finest galleries exhibit my work and I am fortunate to also have buyers/collectors from Europe.
