“Bold color and dynamic movement are my favorite effects.”

Originally from New Haven, Connecticut, Tristina Dietz Elmes grew up in the 1960’s and 70’s in Asia. There she developed a love of ink on rice paper painting in Korea, and studied Chinese language and character painting in Taiwan. After attending college in Maryland, Tristina settled in Florida where she enjoyed a successful career in Computer Systems design and instruction with clients such as National Geographic Society, Sony Music, and Microsoft before embarking on her artistic career. Now an award-winning mixed media abstract artist, teacher, and author based in Fort Lauderdale, Tristina’s passion for life and innovative painting style results in fresh, energetic art. “I love to play with a sense of letting go, allowing the paint to take on a life of its own as my creative partner. Exploring with acrylic, resin, and liquid oil paints on fine paper, wood panel and canvas, I delight in creating eye-catching contemporary works of art for discerning collectors.”
